Une vidéo mystérieuse et talentueuse est apparue sur Youtube il y a deux jours, mettant en scène les principaux "new atheists" célèbres dans le monde anglophone. Ils y défendent en musique la théorie de l'évolution et l'athéisme sous le mode "gangster rap".
Le principal 'rappeur' involontaire est Richard Dawkins, qui déclare sur son forum ne pas comprendre la plaisanterie - contrairement à son co-star PZ Myers.

Il faut noter que la réalisation est soignée. Les paroles sont particulièrement travaillées et remplies d’allusions précises que seuls des familiers de l’évolution et de ses défenseurs pourront saisir.
Si les protagonistes apparaissent particulièrement arrogants, il paraît que cette attitude est commune chez les rappeurs… Ce n’est donc pas forcément un indice. En guest star, Charles Darwin accompagné, de gauche à droite :
- Sam Harris, doctorant en neurologie et auteur de ‘The End of Faith’
- Eugenie Scott, anthropologue, directrice exécutive du National Center for Science Education et critique experte du créationniste.
- PZ Myers, professeur de biologie, blogueur athée superstar et adversaire redouté du « intelligent design »
- Daniel Dennett, philosophe renommé, spécialisé notamment en théorie de l’évolution et sciences cognitives, auteur de ‘Breaking the Spell’.
- Christopher Hitchens, journaliste et polémiste, auteur de ‘God is not Great’

Ce n'est pas grave si certains d'entre nous ne trouvent pas cela drôle (en fait, moi si, mais je suis immergé dans une petite bande de jeunes gens qui écoutent ce genre de musique tout le temps, et j'ai eu quelques années pour m'y accoutumer).
